Ladies! Hartman Reserve is offering a new program series aimed towards women and the outdoors. Naturalists will be offering a variety of programs in this theme including: Canoeing,Wild Edibles/Medicinals, Camp Cooking, Camping with Kids, Birding, and other skills. Please refer to BlackHawkCountyParks.com to see the upcoming WIFE series programs.

The first installment of this program series will be about Camping Gear. Join a naturalist and learn about a variety of camping gear, including re-purposed items and DIY items. Camping, for those of us with limited experience, can be quite intimidating. Join a naturalist to learnthe basics about what to bring along on a camping trip. We will also be making blanket pins/brooches that can be used while camping or on your favorite scarf.  Program Fee: $5 per person.

This program will be held at Hartman Reserve on June 10, 2012.  Hartman Reserve's address is 657 Reserve Drive, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613. You can pre-register at BlackHawkCountyParks.com (click on the "events" tab), or you can register when you arrive.  If you have any questions/concerns/etc please call the Nature Center at 319-277-2187 or email Katie at katie.hrnc@gmail.com.
