Don't Forget To Vote Today, Cedar Falls Ward 4

Jim Miller and Mare Schmidt are competing to replace Kamyar Enshayan.

Ward 4 voters will choose between Jim Miller and Mare Schmidt for city council in today's run-off election.

Miller and Schmidt got the top votes in the November general election. Schmidt had 35 percent of the ballots, followed by Miller with 32 percent. Carol Hanson and Carol Cooper were eliminted in that election, with 22 percent and 11 percent of the vote, respectively.

Jim Miller said he thinks the results will be close, and he's prepared no matter what happens.

"I'm still on the planning and zoning commission if i'm not on there," he said. "I will serve and continue to volunteer in whatever capacity."

Schmidt said she was cautiously optimistic but wasn't sure what to expect tonight.

"Make sure you get out and vote, and make your vote count," she said.

Ward 4 precints are the Cedar Falls Recreation Center, the Hearst Center for the Arts and UNI Museum. Polls will be open until 8 p.m.

Patch will post the results tonight shortly after polls close.
