Cedar Falls High School Ranked A Top School in Iowa For the Second Time This Month

This is the second time in two weeks Cedar Falls made a top ten list for best schools in the state.

For the second time this month, Cedar Falls High School has been ranked one of the top schools in Iowa by a national news organization.

This week the honor came from Newsweek, which named CFHS the sixth best high school in the state and one of the top 1000 schools in the nation.

The rankings were based on graduation rate, college matriculation rate, Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate/Advanced International Certificate of Education tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores and AP courses offered per student.

Eight Iowa schools made the top 1000 schools list. They are:

462. Iowa City West

723. Washington, Cedar Rapids

791. Ames High School

842. John F. Kennedy, Cedar Rapids

880. Iowa City High School

886. Cedar Falls High School

972. Decorah High School

999. Mid-Prairie, Wellman

Two weeks ago, The U.S. News and World Report rankings also named Cedar Falls a top Iowa school. Read about that ranking here.
