The Cedar Falls Jaycees are combining efforts with the Waterloo Jaycees and the National Cattle Congress this year to host a joint-Cedar Valley Fourth of July festival and fireworks display.

That's a change from the usual separate shows held in the two towns. It also means there will be no fireworks show at the UNI-Dome this year.

Instead, Independence Day revelers can head to Cattle Congress on July 6 and 7 for free live music and a fireworks show at 10 p.m. each night.

The bigger fireworks display will be on Saturday. There will also be food vendors and carnival rides, as well as music.
