On Monday, August 13, Obama will travel to Council Bluffs and Boone for campaign events. On Tuesday, August 14, he will hold campaign events in Oskaloosa, Marshalltown and Waterloo. Original story:

President Barack Obama is planning a Waterloo stop next week, Black Hawk County Democratic chairwoman Patt Sass told The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier.

Obama's campaign office has not released any details or confirmed the visit.

Sass said Obama would likely come to Waterloo next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Both Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and Obama have been spending a significant amount of time in Iowa, which is seen as a key battleground state for election 2012. Obama was in Cedar Rapids in July, and Romney is in Des Moines today.

Vice President Joe Biden made a campaign stop in Waterloo in June.
