Ousted Cedar Falls Superintendent Mike Wells said he's excited for what's next: a job as the superintendent of the Mount Pleasant Community School District.
"Mt. Pleasant is an excellent community," he told Patch Wednesday. "They have a Wesleyan college in town, and I’m excited to continue to work in a district that has a college to collaborate with."

"He was very honest and straightforward with all that. It was just impressive to have somebody with his ideas and his passion for the job," Holtkamp said. "I think he's going to be a very great asset to our district."
Wells will make $160,000 plus benefits in his new job at the 3A school district, compared to the $180,000 he makes in 4A Cedar Falls.
Wells said the outgoing Mount Pleasant superintendent, John Roederer, is a friend who had been in the job for a long time.
"Most importantly, I’m excited for a school board that has vision for the future and is supportive of administrators and teachers," Wells said.
