Patch Poll: Should it Matter if Mitt Romney Chooses a Woman For Vice President?
There could be a Vice President Nikki Haley or Vice President Meg Whitman in the White House after the November election, but should it matter?
There could be a woman in second position if Mitt Romney wins the November election.
In early July, Ann Romney said her husband was considering a woman for the vice presidential slot on the Republican ticket.
Could the future White House host Vice President Nikki Haley or a Vice President Susana Martinez? (current governors from South Carolina and New Mexico, respectively).

It shouldn't matter. What matters is the candidates qualifications. Someday, we have to get financial control of this country again, and the right woman is just as qualified to help us do this as a man.
An interesting math exercise : assume our national debt stops at $16 trillion ( we are almost there ) and then we begin immediately paying it off at the rate of $1000 per second. How many years will it take us to get to zero ? ( not counting interest on the debt ). The answer will astound you.

Mitt would be wise to choose a woman because some women would then vote for him who otherwise wouldn't.

David, a lot of us women aren't that naive. I wouldn't vote for a woman who sold out her own sex. The Republican war on women naturally flows from many basic tenets of the Mormon faith. Women can only get to heaven through their husbands. I have a Mormon friend who had to ask her husband for permission to read a book I'd lent her. He threw it away. I would have liked it back if she wasn't going to keep it. It's a very old book, out of print, and was written by a Mormon woman many years ago. It's one of my favorite books, "A Peaceable Kingdom."
That'd be the day that I'd ask my husband for permission to read a book, and he would be astonished if I did.

Maria, I know most women aren't that naive. I'm married to one! Mitt can run with a monkey for all I care because I won't be voting for him. Throwing away your book was unbelievably rude. You should bill him for it. Another book on the subject you may find interesting is "From Housewife to Heretic" by Sonia Johnson. If you can't find it, I'll lend it to you, and I'll bet your husband won't throw it away.

David, thanks for your reassurance! It's nice of you to console me for the loss of my book. Throwing it away was rude, but she seemed to feel quite self-righteous about it, even waving a finger in my face for reading a book that hadn't been approved by the Mormon church.
I'd love to read "From Housewife to Heretic," by Sonia Johnson. I'll get it next time I get a chance to order it. Thanks for the offer of a loan!!

Maria, with friends like that you don't need enemies. I hope you can find the book. It's probably out of print as it was published in 1981.
