Report: Peregrine's Wasendorf Married Two Weeks Ago in Las Vegas
Peregrine Financial Group founder and CEO Russell Wasendorf Sr. reportedly attempted suicide in Cedar Falls on Monday.
Russell Wasendorf Sr. married Nancy Paladino on June 30 in Las Vegas, less than two weeks before reportedly attempting to committ suicide outside Peregrine Financial Group in Cedar Falls.
The marriage record was filed July 6 in the Clark County, NV county recorder's office, the Wall Street Journal is reporting.
Wasendorf, the CEO and founder of Peregrine Financial Group, PFGBest, apparently attempted to committ suicide Monday morning. A note found with him allegedly led to the discovery of $220 million of customer money missing from the company's U.S. Bank account.
Wasendorf and Paladino had been planning an August ceremony at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.
Three days after the Las Vegas wedding, Wasendorf's son, Russell Wasendorf Jr., received power of attorney over his father, according to bankruptcy papers Wasendorf Jr. filed Tuesday.
Paladino was reportedly going to run a new Waterloo location of myVerona, Wasendorf's downtown Cedar Falls restaurant. myVerona closed its doors yesterday.
