The Cedar Valley Association for Soft Trails, CVAST, a Cedar Falls' bike enthusiasts group, will meet at 6:30 p.m. at . What could be a better way to spend your night than drinking beer, eating pizza, talking bikes and plans for the off-pavement trails of the Cedar Valley? The weather may be growing frightful, but that doesn't mean these bike fans will be hanging up their spokes.

Chill Out:

It's finals week at UNI, with all the attendant angst and stress. Students can take advantage of university Wellness/Recreation Services De-Stress Days.  Maucker Union has hosted the occasion since 1996, and events typically include free mini massages, walking the labyrinth, Cedar Bend Humane Society animals, and more, according to UNI's website. Go, students, and enjoy. Today and tomorrow, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Patch wishes you all good luck with your finals!

Letters to Santa:

Little ones have only a few more days to write to Santa. The Holiday Hoopla red mailbox on the corner of Fourth Street and Main Street is the place to drop off letters for the jollly red in man, and if you send your letter before Dec. 17, you will receive a handwritten reply. Parents are reminded to include the full name and return address of their child to ensure a response.
