 This year’s theme, "Mardi Gras at the Falls", will give the Cedar Valley a taste of the New Orleans event, June 21-24. The 2012 event will give way to many positive changes. The Sturgis Falls Celebration Board of Directors voted to move the Tourist Park activities to Gateway Park.  Over the past ten years Tourist Park has become more and more susceptible to flooding from Snag Creek, muddy areas & water pools from rain as well as ponding in low areas when the water table has been high.  Gateway Park offers a much higher & drier venue.

"The number one complaint that I receive every year is the lack of parking", says President Jay Stoddard. "Hopefully this will help alleviate some of that problem".  Some changes you will see are:

• Over 1/2 mile of clear parking north of Gateway Park
• Two shuttles will transport attendees between Gateway Park and Overman Park
• 6 seat golf carts will provide transportation from the Gateway parking areas to the various activities in Gateway Park
• There will be a 40 foot movie screen showing a live stage shot of the entertainment, crowds and other images.
• More than double the food vendors
