Gabby Douglas on Letterman Show Tonight; Chatted With Jay Leno Last Night

Two-time gold medal gymnast Gabby Douglas chatted with First Lady Michelle Obama last night on "The Tonight Show." Tonight she's Dave's guest on "Late Show With David Letterman."

The London 2012 Olympics are officially over. The flame is out and now the stars of the games -- the gold-medal women's gymnastics team -- are making the rounds of TV shows. Monday night Gabby Douglas -- who moved to West Des Moines to train for the past two years at Chow's Gymnastics -- chatted with First Lady Michelle Obama and host Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show." According to the Huffington Post, Gabby admitted indulging in post-Olympics McDonald's food to the wrong person: healthy food advocate Obama, who teased the gymnastics champion. "You're setting me back, Gabby," Obama told Douglas, according to a network transcript. Finals are at 3 p.m. Previous Coverage Lolo Jones' dream of winning a gold medal in this year's Olympics games may still be alive after this afternoon's performance in the semifinals of the 100-meter hurdles. It was a tough day for Lolo Jones, but I think she still has a bright future with endorsements and being an all-American celebrity. At least Team USA represented well in the 100-meter hurdles, every medal helps in the medal race! London 2012 Olympics Track and Field: Lolo Jones Tuesday Schedule and TV Times

Now that Iowan Lolo Jones has gotten past the first heat, it's time for the stakes to get even higher. Jones is scheduled to race the 100-meter hurdles in London at 1:15 p.m. Iowa time Tuesday for the semifinals, and if she passes that round, she will race at 3:00 p.m. the same day. For those who want to see it on television, it will likely be played during NBC's Prime Time Olympics segment starting at 7 Tuesday night. Jones, 30, a Des Moines native, breezed into her second day with a time just short of the fastest on the day.

London 2012 Olympics: Lolo Jones Monday Hurdle Results (Spoiler Alert)

Spoiler Alert -- Jones runs well in the first round and tries to console an emotional fellow hurdler.

Lolo Jones will live to hurdle another day. Jones, 30, won her heat in the 100-meter hurdles at roughly 4:00 a.m. Iowa time this morning. Jones finished with 12.68 seconds, just a little behind the fastest time of 12.57 pace set by world-champion Sally Pearson in another heat. The time qualifies the Des Moines native to run in the semifinals on Tuesday. Times for the semifinals and finals can be found here. After winning her heat, Jones tried to console Jamaica's Brigitte Foster-Hylton, who after running the second fastest time in the world this season, failed to qualify after tripping on a hurdle. Already a gold medal winner as part of the U.S. women's gymnastics team, Douglas, the 16-year-old with the million-dollar smile, competed Thursday morning in the individual all-around finals at the London 2012 Olympics. London 2012 Track and Field Schedule: Lolo Jones and Other Athletes with Iowa Ties

The Olympics in London are well under way and there are some athletes with Iowa ties still alive. Here is a schedule if you want to watch Lolo Jones, Diane Nukuri-Johnson, Kineke Alexander.

The Olympics has been a mixed bag for Iowan competitors so far. Gabby Douglas, who has lived and trained in West Des Moines the last two years, recently secured a gold with the United States gymnastics team. She is prepared to compete for individual gold on Thursday. Two University of Iowa Hawkeye swimmers -- Heather Arseth, a current swimmer, and Dragos Agache, an alumni -- failed to medal after swimming for their respective countries. Another former Hawkeye swimmer who later transfered to the University of Florida, won a gold medal along with Michael Phelps and other teammates on the 4X200-meter relay. But what remains beyond that is the track and field events:

London Olympics 2012: U.S. Women Win Gymnastics Gold Medal; Gabby Douglas Shines

Spoiler alert: The U.S. women's gymnastics team -- call them "The Fierce Five" -- won a gold medal Tuesday over Russia and third-place Romania.

Spoiler Alert: The U.S. women's gymnastics team won the gold medal Tuesday at London 2012 Olympics, according to CNN.com "An emotional Raisman seals the deal for the U.S. with a blistering performance: 15.3. Gold for the U.S, silver for Russia and bronze for Romania," the network posted on its website. Des Moines Register reporter Mark Emmert tweeted that the U.S. won "by a whopping 5.066 points. Raisman crying, telling her teammates she loves them. Gabby, always, smiling big."
