Walk-On Weisman Propels Hawkeyes: Iowa-UNI Results

The Iowa Hawkeyes held on to beat the Northern Iowa Panthers 27-16 at Kinnick Stadium.

The Iowa Hawkeyes retained at least some state bragging rights with a win over Northern Iowa on Saturday in Iowa City behind the efforts of an unlikely hero. Iowa defeated the Panthers 27-16 a week after losing to the Iowa State Cyclones, also at Kinnick Stadium. With the win, Iowa improves its record to 2-1, while UNI falls to 1-2, although both losses come against FBS teams. The game wasn't quite as dramatic as the nail biter in 2009 when the Hawkeyes narrowly avoided a major upset by blocking two field goals in a row in the closing seconds to hang for a 17-16 win. Iowa-UNI: Kick-Off Time, Betting Lines, Television Info, and Prediction

Will Iowa lose two times in a row to instate opponents?

Game Time: 2:30 p.m. (Kickoff 2:42 p.m.)  Television: Big Ten Network Vegas Prediction: Iowa is favored by oddsmakers by 9 points, likely due to home field advantage for the Hawkeyes in Iowa City. Previous Games: Iowa Hawkeyes lost to rival Iowa State at home 9-6, Northern Iowa defeated Central State University 59-0. Iowa Patch Prediction Record so Far: 1-0 Patch Prediction:   This is a very interesting game to predict. For one, Iowa has been incredibly inconsistent on offense, scoring just one touchdown in its first two games, one of them a narrow win, another a narrow loss. Conversely, the Northern Iowa Panthers have looked pretty good, giving a probably overrated but nontheless talented Wisconsin Badgers team a run for their money 26-21…
