Police: 2 Charged With Using Paintball Gun to Invade Cedar Falls Home Also Connected to Waterloo Burglary

Two men charged with invading a Cedar Falls home last week have again been arrested, this time on charges they broke into a Waterloo store in March. Police said Andrew Jacob Anderson, 19, and Joshua Marvion Hood, 21, broke into Computer Reboot, 2806 Falls Ave., Waterloo, on March 31. Waterloo police arrested the two Cedar Falls men, both of 4711 University Ave., on April 13. They are charged with third-degree burglary. Both Anderson and Hood were among five people arrested April 12 after police said they participated in a robbery of a Cedar Falls home. Police said Anderson, Hood and Anthony Charles Smith, 37, had forced their way into a West Ridgeway Avenue mobile home Friday, where they allegedly stole a cell phone and a television. …

Police: Cedar Falls Man Leads Waterloo Police on High Speed Chase, Crashes Car into Fence

A Cedar Falls man allegedly fled police and crashed his car into a fence in Waterloo. Police said an officer stopped Garth Ellsworth Truax just after midnight on Dec. 15 after he allegedly ran a red light. When the officer approached the car, the driver allegedly sped away. Police said the chase reached speeds of 70 mph in a 30 mph zone and that Truax's car jumped curbs and ran over railroad tracks before ending with a crash through a wooden privacy fence on State Street in Waterloo. Truax then allegedly ran on foot, but was caught and detained. Police charged Truax, 21, of 2216-8 Lincoln St., with felony eluding, possession of methamphetamine, fifth-degree criminal mischief and interference, parole violation and driving with license …

Police: Cedar Falls Man Flees Drug Charges, Adds 8 Driving Charges to Rap Sheet

Police said Cedar Falls and Waterloo police officers were speaking with a Cedar Falls man about possible warrants for his arrest when the man allegedly sped off in his car, leaving the cops behind. Officers said they followed the man, who allegedly committed several traffic violations as he led them on a chase before stopping at the corner of Barnett and Crescent Drives in Cedar Falls. Arthur Eugene Amsbary, 37, of 909 Olive St., was arrested at 11:54 a.m. Nov. 22. Cedar Falls police charged Amsbary with failure to yield turning left, unsafe turning or failure to signal, failing to obey a red light, failure to obey stop signs, reckless driving, careless driving, unsafe passing and eluding police. Police: Former UNI Football Player Crashes Car Into Waterloo Home

Police said former University of Northern Iowa football player Craig James was hospitalized after he crashed a car into a Waterloo home.

Waterloo Police said former University of Northern Iowa football player Craig James, 25, was hospitalized after he crashed a car into a Waterloo home Friday. The accident happened in the 900 block of Downing Avenue just before 11 p.m. James' condition was not immediately available. No other injuries were reported in the accident.

(Update) Suspect Named: Police: 'Cleaning Crew' Steals Laptops from Iowa Congressman and Obama Campaign Staffer

Update: Waterloo police arrested Jesse Wardell Stubblefield, 54, of Waterloo, and charged him with second-degree theft after two laptops were allegedly stolen from Black Hawk County Democrat's offices the morning after the election. Police: Facebook Tip Leads to Cedar Falls Woman's Arrest

Two people were arrested after Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers received a Facebook tip, Waterloo Police said Monday. Lisa Wolf, 40, of Cedar Falls, was charged with forgery and credit card fraud. A 15-year-old was also charged. Police said Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers received numerous tips on the two after their photo was posted on the group's Facebook page. A review of a tip and surveillance footage led to the arrest. Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers is a non-profit that launched in June 2012. It allows citizens to report suspicious and criminal behavior while remaining anonymous. No calls are traced, and if a tip leads to an arrest the caller is eligible for a cash reward. Update: Fourth Cedar Falls Man Arrested in Waterloo Stabbing Incident

The men said they were stabbed while walking in Waterloo early Tuesday, but police said the wounds were inflicted in self defense after the men allegedly broke into a home.

Update: A fourth man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a Waterloo stabbing incident. Austin Gilbert Christian, 19, of Cedar Falls, was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree robbery. Police said he and two others allegedly broke into a Waterloo home and assaulted the homeowner. Police said the homeowner stabbed the men in self-defense. Cedar Falls Woman Allegedly Offered Officer Sex Act For $40 in Waterloo Prostitution Sting

She was arrested along with eight others on Friday.

A Cedar Falls woman, charged with prostitution after a Waterloo police sting operation last week, allegedly offered to perform a sex act for an undercover police officer in exchange for $40. The woman, Jacqueline Ann Gildard, 45, was arrested along with eight others in downtown Waterloo Friday night. According to police reports, the arrests were made between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on July 8 and centered around the 300 and 400 blocks of Commercial Street in downtown Waterloo. The reports document how undercover female officers were allegedly offered money for sex acts throughout the night. Cedar Falls Woman Among Nine Arrested for Prostitution in Waterloo

Waterloo police made the arrests last Friday.

Nine people were arrested and charged with prostitution in Waterloo on Friday. A Cedar Falls woman, Jacqueline Ann Gildard, 45, of 4117-119 University Ave., was among the six men and three women arrested. Others arrested were: Jimmy Lee Abbas, 62, of Evansdale Brandon Eugene Brown, 27, of Waterloo Fay Marie Carter, 34, of Waterloo Fernando I Gil-Pavia, 45, of Waterloo Mark Joseph Kriener, 44, of Fredericksburg Carolyn Marie Mallit, 25, of Waterloo (She was also charged with possession of marijuana.) William Dean Pines, 53, of Janesville Dale Edwin Stringer, 57, of New Hampton Further details were not immediately available Monday.

Elderly Man Mugged Outside Waterloo McDonald's

Police are investigating the incident, which happened Thursday night.

A 76-year-old man was mugged outside of McDonald's in Waterloo on Thursday night, police said. Police said a suspect entered the victim's parked truck at about 9:15 p.m. outside the fast food restaurant at 2222 Logan Ave. Police said the suspect asked for money and grabbed the man's wallet, which contained cash and credit cards, before fleeing the scene. No one was hurt during the incident.
