Cedar Falls Rocks Out To Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band In Support Of Taylor Morris

The concert raised funds through the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation and Building for America's Bravest to build a smart home for Taylor Morris.

Cedar Falls came together once again in support of one its own Saturday.

Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band drew a crowd that organizers estimated at about 1,500 to Gateway Park for a benefit concert for Cedar Falls veteran Taylor Morris.

The concert raised funds through the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation and Building for America's Bravest to build a smart home for Morris in his hometown.

Morris, an explosives detection expert with the U.S. Navy, lost parts of all four limbs when he stepped on an improvised explosive device while serving in Afghanistan.

A smart home costs an estimated $500,000 to build. Even before the night's festivities kicked off, over half of that had been raised. The Veterans United Foundation donated $200,000, and additional gifts of $50,000 each came in from the Semper Fi Foundation and the Hope for the Warriors Foundation.
