Police: Felony Charges for 4 Teens After Bikes Stolen From Cedar Falls Garages

Four Waterloo teens are facing felony burglary and theft charges after police said they stole bicycles out of garages in Cedar Falls.

Cedar Falls Police said a witness reported seeing the four men removing a bike from a garage in the 300 block of Olive Street at around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday and riding away.

Police said during a search of the area officers detained four teens on bikes in the 100 block of Franklin Street. Authorities said three of the bicycles were stolen from garages in the 1000 block of Franklin Street and 300 block of Olive Street in Cedar Falls. The combined value of the four bicycles was over $2,000, police said.

The owner of the fourth bicycle has not been identified. Cedar Falls Police are asking for the public's help identifying the victim of a bicycle theft on June 11.

One juvenile, age 16, was arrested. Patch does not typically print the names of juveniles who have been arrested. The other three men who were arrested were:

  • Darrell Deshay Lanier, 19, of 122 Linden St., Waterloo
  • Qunshaundes McNealy, 18, of 314 Cresent Place, Waterloo
  • Mikal Dequavious Davis, 18, of 624 Hope Ave., Waterloo

All four were charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree theft, both Class D felonies. The juvenile was referred to Juvenile Court Services and released to a family member. The other three were being held at the Black Hawk County Jail on $10,000 bond.
