Cedar Falls Schools Hit Enrollment Landmark; Joins Urban Education Network

New Cedar Falls Schools Superintendent Andy Pattee said he was excited for the opportunities the membership could bring.

The Cedar Falls School Board voted unanimously to join the Urban Education Network of Iowa Monday.

The UEN is an association of Iowa school districts with more than 5,000 students. This is the first year Cedar Falls has been eligible to join, because this is the first time the district hit that enrollment number.

Cedar Falls will be an associate member, which means the district cannot vote but does get access to lobbying efforts and will work in cooperation with other large school districts.

New Cedar Falls Schools Superintendent Andy Pattee said he was excited for the opportunities the membership could bring.

"This would allow us to take part and have conversations at a little bit of a deeper level," he said, touting the chance to network and collaborate with other large districts in Iowa.
